Another game that I've had for ages but not been able to really play, and again I've now played it through to completion.
Far Cry is set on a remote desert island where mysterious experiments are being carried out - think Lost with more guns. It's technically stunning with great water, open spaces and lush scenery. The enemy AI is really good and you find yourself in some great gun battles. There's some cool vehicle sequences and some great set-pieces.
However, about 2/3 of the way through the game it really runs out of steam and becomes a "run through the corridors" blastfest instead of the innovative game it has been before. But, as an older game it still looks great (it was ahead of it's time so older PCs couldn't really run it to it's full potential) and it's now pretty cheap, so for any FPS fans, you'd be silly not to pick it up.
