I asked for either this or Gears of War for Christmas, and got this - and glad I did cos its one of the best games I have ever played. Maybe being a huge comics fan helps, as half the fun of the game is the fact that you get to play as like 20 different superheroes (Wolverine, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Thor, Iron Man...etc.) against dozens of the famous Marvel supervillains (Doctor Doom, Galactus, Super Skrull, Loki...etc.) But on top of that, the gameplay is responsive, fun, long-lasting, with lots of replay value with things to unlock (like extra characters).
The graphics, voice work and cutscenes are also top notch - though from a purely geeko point of view, the look of the characters are sometimes inconsistent and the "universe" this takes place in is in doubt (some of the characters seem to be the Ultimate versions of the characters, while others are the classic versions). Well, ho hum, it's only a game. But its a fucking awesome one.
