I wait at home all day today for a package from DHL (a large item that needs a signature). The tracking website informs me that the delivery driver took it out at 930am. It rolls around to 5pm and it has not yet arrived. I call DHL Customer Service, am told that they make deliveries up to 8pm and that someone from the local office will call me back to give me an update on when the driver will be here.
At 715pm a lady calls me and says she has just spoke to the driver, he is nearby and will be here before 8pm. At 830pm the package has still not arrived, I call back and am told the local office is now closed and all they can do is have someone call me in the morning.
Now, I am not a naturally angry person, but this is coming on the back of at least 3 other corporations screwing me over the last month. Budget failed to have the truck that I reserved to move houses with, Comcast failed to show up on two occasions when I stayed home all day and Lowes also failed to show up on the promised day when delivering my new appliances. I just hate the "mega-corporation" structure where because there are so many employees, nobody is responsible for anything, nobody calls you in advance to apologise when they arent going to be there, nobody knows or cares when you call to find out where the driver is, and in two out of four occasions I have been specifically told "I have just spoken to the driver/dispatch and they'll be there by x o'clock". Lies. Complete sodding lies.
Lowes and Comcast get a pass (for now) as they both actually fixed the problem once I got the information to the right person.
But screw DHL and screw Budget.
